Welcome Friendly Firefly Families!
I am so excited that we finally had some snow in South Carolina! We have heard so many stories about what your children did in the snow. It sounds like they all had a blast! If you get a chance and would like to, you may send a picture of your child playing in the snow and we can share it in class. I know they would LOVE to share their stories all over again😉. In addition to enjoying the weather, it appears that our students worked hard on their homework assignments. Mrs. Young and I are very impressed with the work that was returned.
I have just finished our literacy assessments with the students and have started our math assessments. Once our assessments are completed, progress reports will be sent home (Feb. 4) and we will begin scheduling our mid-year Parent/Teacher conferences. Be on the lookout for more information to come!
This week, we are wrapping up unit 5-Our Neighborhood and next week, we will begin unit 6-Transportation. Our friends have really enjoyed discussing all of the Community Helpers in our neighborhood. Ask them about the ballet dancing truck driver...they have had so much fun with that song!
