Happy Mother's Day!

We have been learning about caterpillars, butterflies, and insects for the last two weeks.  We have had a great time watching our caterpillars grow, form their chrysallis, and just today emerge as butterflies!  (It happened this morning as we were coming in to school.)  What an amazing transformation that the children were able to see for themselves!  We are so excited and will keep the butterflies to observe for the next week.  At the end of the week, we will release our new insect friends so that they may go on to lay more eggs and start this amazing life cycle for another group of butterflies. The class can tell you all about the life cycle of butterflies and about the characteristics of insects.  Ask them to sing you the song we learned this week. We went on an insect hunt on our nature path behind school.  The class LOVED it!

Thank you so much for all of the gifts, goodies, and well wishes this week!  Mrs. Young and are very thankful for all of you!!

I wish you all a wonderful Mother's Day!  I hope you enjoy and take some time for yourself this weekend!!
