Not Just a Scribble!

Welcome Friendly Firefly Families!

Did you know that International Scribble Day is observed on March 27th annually? On Monday, the Friendly Fireflies listened to a read aloud of "I'm Not Just a Scribble" written by Diane Alber.  In the beginning of this story, Scribble was not accepted by the other artwork.  They didn't understand why he looked the way he did.  Instead of taking the time to get to know him, they treated him badly...until another picture decided it would be more fun with more friends. In the end, there is a message of acceptance and understanding.  After reading the story, we created our own scribble artwork (picture above).  The students loved this activity because everyone could do it no matter their abilities!

Next week, we will celebrate the Week of the Young Child.  Each day will follow a different theme (Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday).  Also, field day is Thursday and Friday will be an early dismissal day.

Have a great weekend!
