Community Helpers on Parade!

We had a great time during our Community Helper parade with Mrs. Ramos' Child Development class today. The other students, teachers, and office staff really enjoyed seeing our friends all dressed up.  
We are super excited about our field trip to Cici's next Tuesday!  We can't wait to make our own pizzas and eat them...yummy!  Thanks so much to all of the parents who donated their time and goodies for the teacher breakfast this morning.  Everything was delicious!!

Thank you to all of our Veterans!!!

We had a great time at the Veteran's Day program and parade today at school.  We have talked about how thankful we are to veteran's for our freedom.  We want to say a special thank you to all of our military families from our class.  Half of our class this year has either a mom, dad (or both!) or sibling serving as active or retired military!  Wow!!  Thank you so much for your service!! 
Next week we will continue our Community Helpers unit.  Next Friday, we will have a community helper parade at school.  Your child can dress up like their favorite community helper. It should be lots of fun!

Parents, please return any orders for the Original Works fundraiser.  These will make great holiday gifts for your family!! Orders need to be back by the 14th!

Welcome to the Friendly Flyer!

We have had a lot of fun this week learning about pumpkins. We cut open our pumpkin and explored the inside.  Everyone had fun taking a turn pulling out the pumpkin guts!  We used lots of descriptive words like slimey, gooey, and sticky to describe how it felt.  We even put the "guts" and pumpkin in our discovery center for further exploration.  Our friends have also had lots of fun visiting our classroom pumpkin patch.  Friends have been weighing pumpkins and comparing which pumpkins are lighter or heavier and smaller and bigger.   They have even had fun raking the leaves into a pile on the grass!  I think we have some expert gardeners in our midst!  You can put them to work at home in your yard!!  

Next week, we are wrapping up our Fall unit and will be starting our Community Helpers unit.  We will learn about Veteran's Day and go to the Veteran's Day program on Friday at school.  

Parents, please check your child's folder for the Original Works paper that went home today.  Orders need to be back soon!
