College and Career Week

 Welcome Friendly Firefly Families!

Thank you so much for your participation during College and Career Week.  We really enjoyed seeing how everyone was dressed coming to school (see below for some photos from this week).  We also enjoyed participating in the "Walk for Life" today! 

Next week, we will be working on week 3 of our Family Unit.  We will be focusing on letter "Nn" recognizing, writing, and saying the letter sound.  Also, don't forget...the ordering deadline for our artwork fundraiser is 11/1/21 to have items purchased shipped in time for the holidays. These items will make the perfect gift for family and friends!

Artwork Fundraiser

Welcome Friendly Firefly Families!

We are so excited to let you know that we are participating in the Original Works fundraiser.  Each student will bring home an example of the artwork that was created using their handprint.  They are super cute!!  The order forms will be in your child's Thursday folder. Unit 3 Family

 

Welcome Friendly Firefly Families!

We are finishing up our unit "Making Friends" and we will be beginning our "Family" unit next week (the week of October 18th).   I have included (below) a list of each unit showing what letters we will learn as well as the high frequency words that we will introduce during that unit.  Each unit consists of four weeks. 

We have also been learning some fun fall facts during our Content Time as well as continuing to work with our Feeling Buddies.  Ask your child to tell you about our Feeling Buddies if they haven't already!

In Math, we have been learning how to count the "math way". This is a different way of using our fingers to represent numbers. We start with using the left pinky finger to represent the number one and move on as if you are looking at a number line.

Staying Connected

      Our "Caravan of Caring" was a huge success! I saw so many of our friends along the route. It was so great seeing each of your smiling faces and all of the signs that you created! I wish I could have jumped out to hug each and every one of you!! I have a few pictures that I am including but I mostly videoed my friends and I will share some of those via email. Unfortunately, I did not get everyone as it was difficult in the moving vehicle! If you have more pictures, please share and I will add it next week.  
     This week, we had our first Zoom play date. Although it was a little crazy, it was great seeing each other. We even had a surprise visit from Ms. White! By request, next week we will have a drawing lesson taught by my husband. So get your art supplies ready...I can't wait to see your creations! If you have any other requests for our virtual meetings, please let me know and I will see if we can work it out. 
     We are so thankful for all of our nurses, doctors, grocery store workers, truck drivers, and all of those who are going out in the world each and every day to keep us safe! If you would like to participate in an outreach that would be much appreciated, create a card or picture saying thank you to these essential community helpers. You may send them to one of your local helpers or one of our Teaching Assistants has a sister who is a nurse at Lexington Medical. She said they would love to get cards. You may send them to:
